Cataraqui Town Centre Redevelopment

The Cataraqui Centre and northwest quadrant study area is located along Princess Street, approximately 10 km from Kingston City Hall, and spans about 5.2 km².

The proposed development envisions transforming the car-oriented mall and surrounding low-density lands into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly, and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood. A site visit and mapping analysis revealed extensive underutilized space characterized by surface parking lots, large setbacks, big-box stores, and isolated building footprints within three segregated land uses: commercial, industrial, and residential.
